Dustin Nobbe notches Top-5 finish in Atomic 100 finale

Both Dustin and Ted Nobbe traveled to Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Atomic 100 weekend. Drawing 30 Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series entries, Dustin timed in eighth fastest in time trials before placing fourth in his heat. Starting the opening night feature in 15th, Nobbe was challenging for a top-five run but faded late to finish seventh. Relying on a provisional into the main event, Ted passed 12 cars in the 40-lapper to register an impressive 10th-place finish. He earned an award for the highest finishing steel block entry. On Saturday evening, Dustin clocked in third fastest overall in time trials before taking part in heated battle for the lead in his heat race with Josh Rice. After a late-race caution eliminated his lead, Rice passed him on the final lap, marking him second. Starting the $12,000-to-win finale in sixth, Dustin faded early but rebounded late in the 60-lapper to finish fifth. He trailed Rod Conley, Devin Gilpin, Tyler Erb, and Jared Hawkins to the checkers. Ted experienced motor issues throughout the night that forced him to start-and-park.

Dustin is currently third in the Iron-Man point standings.
